Blog - Time to train

ACT for SMA Butterfly Logo

That picture up there... it was lie ;)  I'm back for my 4th Tough Mudder!  With just 6 weeks to go it really is time to concentrate on the fitness levels.

We will be completing a 12 mile course of around 20 + obstacles. These obstacles are extremely challenging and many are more mind over matter, including ice baths, huge walls and electroshock therapy (yes it really does hurt!!). One of my favourites has to be the Island Hopping... ever watched Wipeout where they have to jump across floating platforms on water and not fall in? Well that's exactly what it is!  I did make it over the first year.  Following years, however, didn't work out quite as planned...

So the aim for this week is to run at least 10 miles, complete 3 sessions of kettlebells and get out on the bike! If nothing else I should drop a few lbs before the event and make it a little easier on myself.

As for the children... perhaps I should get them training with me too?!  They have a much smaller version of Tough Mudder (Mini Mudder) and no crazy ice baths or electroshock therapy, but they will still need to work as a team to get up the mud mounds etc.

You can sponsor either our main adult team, or the childrens team by clicking the links below;

We'll be sure to put up lots of pictures of both events shortly after, and if any of you fancy joining the team next year just let us know :)
